— An 18-year-old man was arrested on one count of misdemeanor shoplifting at 7:03 p.m. Friday at 201 S. Estes Drive, according to Chapel Hill police reports.
Taevon Keith Weeks was observed by store employees and security guards at Burlington Shoes concealing a pair of U.S. Polo shoes in his book bag, reports state. The shoes, worth $19.99, were recovered.
He was released at 8 p.m. and is expected to appear in court Aug. 2.
— Someone drove away from a Kangaroo Express gas station with the gas nozzle still in the tank at 10:58 p.m. Saturday at 201 S. Estes Drive, according to Chapel Hill police reports.
The incident caused $100 in damage to the gas tube, reports state.
— Someone broke into a residence and stole more than $10,000 worth of items at 6 p.m. Saturday at 1 Rogerson Drive, according to Chapel Hill police reports.
A 9 mm Taurus handgun, two PlayStation 3 consoles, three video games, two cameras, two rings and $320 in cash were stolen, reports state.
— Someone assaulted someone else with his or her fists at 4:13 p.m. Sunday at 109 Stinson St., according to Chapel Hill police reports.
— A 19-year-old man was arrested on one misdemeanor charge of marijuana possession, one misdemeanor charge for possessing drug paraphernalia and one other misdemeanor charge at 5:57 a.m. Sunday at 109 Stinson St., according to Chapel Hill police reports.
William Fredrick Law was brought before the magistrate and was released on a written promise, reports state. He is expected to appear in court May 24, reports state.
