UNC men’s basketball forward Will Graves underwent surgery to remove scar tissue from his right ankle on June 9, coach Roy Williams said.
Graves is expected to make a full recovery and should return to the court in four weeks to six weeks.
The surgery comes after Graves sprained his ankle last December in the game against Albany, which caused him to miss the Jan. 4 contest against College of Charleston.
Graves averaged 9.8 points and 4.6 rebounds per game for the Tar Heels last season, starting 34 out of 36 games.
He also led the team in 3-point field goals for the season, sinking 73 3-point shots over the course of the year.
At 6-foot-6, Graves will play an integral role in next season’s squad, filling a hole in the low post that was created with the departure of Ed Davis and the Wear twins.
