Police log for September 3, 2010

—A 17-year-old Chapel Hill man was arrested for shoplifting $9.49 worth of beer and underage possession of alcohol at 1:54 p.m. Wednesday from the Food Lion at 1129 Weaver Dairy Road, according to Chapel Hill police reports.
The minor was taken to the police department and was released on a written promise to appear in court, reports state.

—Somebody stole a $250 bicycle at 6:50 p.m. Wednesday at 207 Pinegate Circle, according to Chapel Hill police reports.

—Somebody stole $100 worth of tires off a bicycle between midnight Tuesday and 5:20 p.m. Wednesday at 310 1/2 West Franklin St., according to Chapel Hill police reports.

—Somebody stole a $300 iPod from a student’s desk between 2:05 p.m. and 2:55 p.m. Tuesday at East Chapel Hill High School, according to Chapel Hill police reports.

—Somebody broke into a home and stole $1050 worth of PlayStation equipment between 8 a.m. and 9:25 p.m. Wednesday at 1110 Sourwood Circle, according to Chapel Hill police reports. The damage to a windowpane was valued at $200, reports state.
