Junior fullback Devon Ramsay was held from playing against Clemson after the athletic department learned new information related to the NCAA investigation into agent benefits and academic misconduct.
“It is unfortunate that we have to hold out an additional student-athlete, but as we have stated, we are still in the process of gathering information related to the investigation,” athletic director Dick Baddour said. “Yesterday, we learned information that requires us to hold him out of competition.”
Jonathan Smith, a senior safety, won’t play this season, but has one season of eligibility remaining.
