The town of Hillsborough will begin issuing parking tickets for any violations in the downtown area.
Parking is now being enforced between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday in all town-owned parking spaces, on-street spaces and the Bank of America parking lot, but cars will not be towed.
The town has recently worked to improve downtown parking after completing a study in September.
Improvements made will include increasing parking time limits, painting curb markings for no-parking areas and redesigning and painting parking space striping for on-street parking.
