Police log for December 7, 2010

  • A 29-year-old man was charged with indecent exposure and trespassing at 3:34 p.m. Friday at East Chapel Hill High School at 500 Weaver Dairy Road, according to Chapel Hill police reports. Brian Eugene McLaughlin was arrested by a student resource officer, reports state. He was taken to Orange County Jail in lieu of a $500 bond, reports state.
  • Someone punched another person in the face with his or her fist at 2:35 a.m. Sunday at 157 E. Franklin St., according to Chapel Hill police reports.
  • Someone slashed two tires on a black 2002 Mercedes-Benz C230 Kompressor Sport Coupe between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Friday at Mill Creek Condominiums at 702 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., according to Chapel Hill police reports. Damage to the tires was valued a $150, reports state.
  • Someone broke into a blue 2006 Ford Escape between 9 p.m. Thursday and 12:57 p.m. Friday at 799 Bolinwood Drive, according to Chapel Hill police reports. Damage to the vehicle was worth $250, reports state.
  • Someone concealed steaks in her bookbag between 2:50 p.m. and 3 p.m. Friday at the Food Lion at 1129 Weaver Dairy Road, according to Chapel Hill police reports. The steaks were worth $80, reports state.
  • Someone was walking down a street with a gun at 2:46 p.m. Friday at 1495 Ephesus Church Road, according to Chapel Hill police reports. No gunshots were reported, reports state.
  • A 34-year-old Liberty man was charged with misdemeanor hit and run and exceeding safe speed at 11:30 p.m. Sunday at 828 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., according to Chapel Hill police reports. Brian Patrick Gallagher was cited and released, reports state.
