TO THE EDITOR:
I was offended when I saw Thursday’s QuickHit concerning our “post-apocalyptic” activities on campus. This is my first semester participating in Humans v. Zombies and in just a few days I have met multiple interesting individuals who I would feel proud to call my friends.
The statement concerning our social lives, “find a date … or have a drink” are ignorant, demeaning and detrimental to the argument presented. Many of us have found a way to enjoy competition and community without succumbing to stereotypical, and in my opinion, less-meaningful ways of having fun.
Our pursuits are strategic, entertaining to others, sportsmanlike and without superficial judgment that many on our campus seem to lack. Consider this an invitation to the rest of the student body to join the horde next semester.
