After winning an overtime thriller against Clemson, North Carolina advances to the ACC Championship where it will face Duke on Sunday at 1 p.m.
The Blue Devils made it to the title match after beating Virginia Tech 77-63 on Saturday after UNC had locked its berth in the title game.
It will be the third time the two rivals have met this season. Duke won 79-73 at Cameron Indoor Stadium in the first match while UNC took the rematch 81-67, which also handed the Tar Heels the ACC regular season championship and the ACC Tournament’s No. 1 seed.
UNC has won six of the 11 times the two teams have met in the finals of the ACC Tournament, but that hasn’t happened since 2001.
