UNC News21 project Powering a Nation has been chosen from more than 40 nominations as one of six multimedia productions in the World Press Photo awards.
A nominating committee of professionals and specialists selected the list, and final judging will occur from May 6-7 in Amsterdam.
Powering a Nation investigates the political, economic, and scientific tensions behind U.S. energy, and is funded by News21.
News21, a national initiative at 12 of America’s research universities, is supported by the Carnegie and Knight foundations to advance the U.S. news business.
