TO THE EDITOR:
When the word “research” comes to mind, many of us think of those long hours we spend poring over books to write a paper for a class. Doesn’t sound too appealing, right? But to the Office for Undergraduate Research and many UNC students, research or scholarship is wherever your curiosity decides to take you. Students conduct research in all sorts of innovative ways.
Each year, students from every major take part in research and many present their findings at the Celebration of Undergraduate Research Symposium. I strongly urge every member of the UNC community to attend this year’s Symposium, held Monday April 11th, from 1:00-3:30 p.m. in the Great Hall of the Student Union. Not only will you get the chance to support your fellow Tar Heels, you might be inspired to conduct research of your own! The Symposium is a chance for undergraduates to showcase their work and to share their passion for their research with others.
