Dakota Williams, former student body treasurer, accepted an offer to become chairman of the Board of Elections on Tuesday night.
Student body president Mary Cooper chose Williams, who has also served as speaker of Student Congress, to take over a body that oversaw a particularly venomous election season this year.
Williams’ term will begin after Student Congress approves the appointment at its meeting Wednesday and next Tuesday.
Williams said he is looking forward to continuing this year’s board’s
success while clarifying issues the board faced.
“This year’s board did great job but they ran into some issues
interpreting Title VI and I want to get that hammered out,” he said.
