Chancellor Holden Thorp announced Friday that Karol Kain Gray has been selected to be the University’s next vice chancellor of finance and administration.
Her appointment, which is dependent upon a vote by the University’s Board of Trustees at their September meeting, will be effective Dec. 1 if approved.
Gray — who previously served as vice president for finance and administration at Stony Brook University in Stony Brook, N.Y. — will succeed Dick Mann, who announced his plans to retire last January. Mann agreed to continue in his position until a new replacement was found.
UNC’s search committee for the position was closed to the public.
