The road ends in the Elite Eight.
Led by Tyshawn Taylor’s 22 points, No. 2-seeded Kansas defeated No. 1-seed North Carolina on Sunday, 80-67.
The Tar Heels once again played without injured point guard Kendall Marshall, starting freshman Stilman White in his place.
White held his own in the contest with seven assists and no turnovers. And the Tar Heels also got a lift from freshman forward James Michael McAdoo, who led the team with 15 points.
Still, that wasn’t enough to topple Kansas. The Tar Heels pulled to within one of the Jayhawks with 3:58 on the clock at 68-67, but then Kansas went on a 12-0 run to close the book on UNC’s season.
Kansas will go on to play Ohio State on Saturday in the Final Four.
