The North Carolina men’s basketball team was given one of four top seeds for the 2012 NCAA tournament. The Tar Heels will face the winner of the first-round match between Vermont and Lamar on Friday, Mar. 16.
Vermont and Lamar will play in Dayton, Ohio on Wednesday.
Michigan State, Kentucky and Syracuse also received No. 1 seeds for the Big Dance and Kentucky was tabbed as the top overall seed.
This marks the 14th time the Tar Heels have earned a top seed.
