First Lady Michelle Obama will speak at UNC’s campus on Tuesday, Oct. 16, according to a statement released today by President Barack Obama’s campaign.
“The First Lady will speak about what’s at stake in this election for North Carolinians and ask them to help organize their communities between now and Election Day,” the statement reads.
North Carolina-based band Delta Rae will perform prior to the First Lady’s remarks at Carmichael Arena. The president also spoke at the arena in April about the importance of maintaining lower interest rates on student loans.
The event is free and open to the public, though tickets are required due to limited space. Tickets will be available in the Pit on a first-come, first-serve basis beginning on Saturday, Oct. 13, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and will continue if tickets are still available on Sunday, Oct. 14, from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
The doors will open at 11 a.m.
