Someone broke and entered a residence and stole items at 503 Gomains Ave. between 11 a.m. and 10 p.m. Monday, according to Chapel Hill police reports. The person took laptops and prescription pills, valued at $2,295, from the home, reports state.

Someone discharged a firearm at the intersection of Estes Drive and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard at 11:24 p.m. Monday, according to Chapel Hill police reports. The weapon was discharged to put an injured deer down, reports state.
