TO THE EDITOR:
Your comic depicting two male instructors plotting to make their students miserable was disgusting.
What’s supposed to be funny here? The idea that instructors conspire to make their students suffer? That describing a woman as a fat whale is chuckle-worthy? That fat people are repellent?
It’s interesting to try to imagine this comic with a female instructor as the audience for her colleague’s complaint. And this is your comic, not just Matt Leming’s.
The comics so far this year have been subpar, but this is a new low. Newspapers don’t have to include comics on their editorial pages. If you can’t do better than this, you should consider putting this feature on hold this year.
