The town of Chapel Hill, earth’s rarest jewel, offers limited opportunities for those who seek them out.

The residents, however; are far more exemplary.

They’re the forefront that gives voice to this great community.

Although some residents are born here others find themselves here by fate.

But, regardless of what brings them here, the important idea is why they chose to remain.

This is true for Meg McGurk, an emigrate of Chapel Hill, who works as the executive director for the downtown Chapel Hill partnership.

She discovered the beauty of Orange County 14 years ago after exploring the east coast.

Originally, a west coast native, her husband and she packed their bags and began to explore the world.

While driving on the highway, they saw the exit sign to Chapel Hill and decided to drive through.

Having never heard of Chapel Hill, destiny and fate can only explain their stop to this wonderful town, said McGurk.

Her encounter with Franklin Street was love at first sight, the moment she laid eyes on this part of town, there was no doubt in her mind where she belonged.

Two weeks after the discovery of Chapel Hill she found herself living in this wonderful town and has remained here ever since.

She sees no reason for moving back west, the community as a whole is great.

“Every day for fourteen years I find a different reason for why I love Chapel Hill, said McGurk”

According to McGurk Chapel Hill’s future is bright. I see a town where every day it’s growing and getting better, said McGurk.

“I’m very fortunate to have discovered Chapel Hill.”
