A Carrboro man has been arrested and charged with sexually assaulting a female in the early hours of Friday morning.
Francisco Javier Diaz, 33, was arrested Friday and charged with attempted first degree rape, first degree burglary and sexual battery.
The Carrboro Police Department responded to a call at around 4:17 a.m. after a man broke into a residence near the 100 block of Fidelity Street and sexually assaulted a woman.
Diaz, of 501 N.C. Hwy. 54, is being held on $100,000 bail.
