TO THE EDITOR:
Thursday’s editorial cartoon making fun of the C-START program was not only a lame attempt at humor but a totally inappropriate mocking of the names of two students.
Students who teach these courses put a great deal of effort into designing them and offering them to their fellow students.
Additionally, they benefit students interested in those subject matters as well as their own experience of teaching.
Mocking students for unusual names is a hurtful and unwarranted cheap shot far below the standards of journalism and civility to which I would expect the DTH to hold itself.
I would hope that the DTH editors would review and uphold its standards on such practices with its staff, including its cartoonists.
