Carrboro police are investigating a sexual assault reported at 10 p.m. Sunday on Old Fayetteville Road between N.C. Hwy. 54 and Jones Ferry Road.
The victim did not know her male assailant. There is no description of a suspect available.
The Carrboro Police Department encourages residents to take safety precautions if they are outside after dark.
