A man was shot in the 100 block of East Franklin Street at 2:40 a.m. Sunday, according to Chapel Hill police.
Police were responding to a report of people fighting when they found Steven Charles Moore, Jr., with a gunshot wound, according to a press release from the Chapel Hill Police Department.
Police arrested and charged Ladarren Deshawn Parker, 18 of Durham, with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury and resisting arrest.
Moore was transported to UNC Hospitals for treatment with non-life threatening wounds, the press release said. Parker was transported to Orange County Jail and is being held in lieu of a $15,000 bond.
