North Carolina football player Darius Lipford has chosen to forgo his senior season at UNC and enter the 2014 NFL Supplemental Draft, according to a team spokesman.
Lipford is one of four players available to be selected in Thursday's draft. If Lipford isn't selected during the seven-round draft, he will become an undrafted free agent and can sign with any NFL team.
Last season, Lipford tallied 20 tackles, 6.0 tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks at the bandit position after tearing his ACL in the Independence Bowl against Missouri at the end of his sophomore year.
Rising senior Norkeithus Otis is expected to be the starter at the bandit position this season after posting 42 tackles, 11.0 tackles for loss and 6.5 sacks last year.
