A cyclist is dead after being hit by a vehicle on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard this morning, according to a press release from the Chapel Hill Police Department.
The person, whose identity has not been released, was struck near the road's intersection with Hillsborough Street.
The person was taken to UNC Hospitals and died due to injuries sustained in the collision.
No charges have been filed yet, but police are still investigating the incident.
