TO THE EDITOR:
A note of thanks to the Clef Hangers for their rendition of “Amazing Grace” in honor of Coach Smith. In a ceremony of many moving tributes, I thought it was the best — simple but powerful beyond words. While I wasn’t privileged to be there in person, watching instead on television, I was moved to tears by the beauty and grace of the song and the singers. Another reason to be proud of our University family, and I’m sure I speak for the entire Carolina family in relaying our gratitude for your gift to all of us.
