J.P. Tokoto, former small foward on the North Carolina basketball team, was drafted early Friday morning by the Philadelphia 76ers with the No. 58 pick overall in the 2015 NBA Draft.
As a junior during the 2014-15 season, Tokoto averaged 8.3 points, 5.6 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game. After the season, Tokoto decided to declare for the draft, forgoing his senior season at UNC.
Tokoto was one of six players drafted by the Sixers on the night, joining Jahlil Okafor, Guillermo Hernangomez, Richaun Holmes, Arturas Gudaitis and Luka Mitrovic.
Tokoto is the 108th former North Carolina player to be selected in NBA draft history and is the 19th drafted player to play under head coach Roy Williams at UNC.
