The Chapel Hill Fire Department received reports of a gas leak at 9:03 a.m. on West Franklin Street, according to a tweet from the department's account this morning.

The report comes from the Carolina Square construction at 123 W. Franklin St., formerly known as University Square. The construction site is also right in front of Granville Towers.
Eastbound lanes on West Franklin Street in that area are also closed for emergency responders, the fire department tweeted.
