A Carrboro police car was hit by an oncoming vehicle on N.C. Highway 54 on Wednesday night around 8:30 p.m. while two police officers were assisting a disabled motorist, according to a release.

Two people in the vehicle that hit the police car were transported to UNC Hospitals, and no police officers were injured. Titus the police dog was inside the police car that was struck, but he was uninjured.

North Carolina's Move Over Law requires vehicles to either slow down or change lanes to protect police officers and other individuals when drivers see an emergency vehicle pulled over or stopped.
