National Wild Side Day: What's the wildest thing UNC students have done?
April 12 marks National Wild Side Day. With entertainment portraying college as a wild party scene — seen in "Girls Gone Wild" and "Spring Breakers" — staff writer Paige Connelly asked UNC students: what’s the wildest thing you’ve done at college?

“So, within the first few weeks of college, you know that time when you’re just friends with all the people that live on your floor? So we were all hanging out in my room, everyone that lived on my wing of Craige, and two of our guy friends were at Sorority Golf and they were coming back to meet us, so we were like, ‘Oh, let’s send them to a different room.’ So we had seen something on Yik Yak about how there was a party in Craige 213, which is not where we live — we live on the 5th floor.
So we’re just like, ‘Oh, go into Craige 213, just like walk in, it’s no big deal we’re all just there.’ So we run to the balcony, like on the other side of the building to see them try and get into the suite … and so we see them try to get into the suite, then they run out because they realized we weren’t there, and so they saw us from below, they were looking at us from the balcony, so we all run — like 10 of us — run back into my room. We lock the door and turn off all the lights so they’d think that we’re not there, and then someone turns on their flashlight on their phones and is looking around at everyone in the room, and we see this person we don’t know and we’re like, ‘Who are you?’ And he’s like, ‘My name is John, I just saw you guys running, so I just decided to run with you, I didn’t know what was happening.’ And that’s how we met John, who I sometimes see in Lenoir and I’ll say hi to him occasionally.”

“So me and my friend stayed up, we had an essay due the next night, so it was like three in the morning and we were like, 'We need some time.' So we went outside, we were on the P2P and just got off at the 10th stop to walk back. Just for fun. We walked for like an hour and a half. I went on there for an hour and a half trek for no apparent reason, only to come back to Craige and finish our paper.”

“Staying up a day and a half to study for a test, without sleeping. That’s been my worst. To me, it’s wild — have you seen me without eight hours of sleep?"

“I don’t do anything wild. I danced in a cage at Shooters. How’s that?”
