The Daily Tar Heel

In honor of the national championship game, staff writer Nicola McIrvine asked fans in the Pit which song they think typifies UNC basketball.

"You know what I’m thinking? The song that they played in that Spongebob episode at the stadium, 'Sweet Victory.' That’s my ideal scenario. Just listen to the lyrics of the song, you know? 'It’s the thrill of one more kill.'"

Colin Wilson, senior, political Science, public policy double major

"I would say 'Jumpman.' Definitely 'Jumpman' — you gotta go with that. Hopefully if you ask me this tomorrow, we can say 'Big Rings.'"

Dante DiMaggio, sophomore, business administration major

"I’m gonna say 'Jumpman' because they always play it in the beginning of games. We always get so hype to that song."

Nina Luker, sophomore, journalism

“'Jumpman' by Drake, because you know what? We’re just so excited — we’re all just jumping everywhere. We’re high-key jumping everywhere."

Jessica Huntley, junior, exercise and sport science

"'We Are the Champions,' baby. For obvious reasons."

Alejandro Maldonado, senior at Binghamton University
