The North Carolina men's basketball team added a member to their 2017 recruiting class on Monday afternoon when Andrew Platek announced on Twitter that he was committing to the Tar Heels.
Platek is a 6-foot-4 guard from Northfield, Mass., and is rated as a three-star recruit according to 247Sports.com. He had interest from Indiana and Stanford, among other schools.
Platek joins guard Jalek Felton in North Carolina's 2017 recruiting class. The Tar Heels still have plenty of time, though, to build out the class before the start of the 2017-18 basketball season.
The rising senior has developed a reputation as an excellent outside shooter for his AAU and high school teams.
247Sports.com rates Platek as the 205th best player in the country and the 45th best shooting guard in his class.
