The communications director for PlayMakers Repertory Company was driving while impaired when she was killed in a head-on crash Aug. 25, the News & Observer reported. 

According to a report obtained by the News & Observer, Constance Mahan had a blood-alcohol level between 0.21 and 0.22 after she died. 

A two-vehicle collision on Raleigh Road occurred near the intersection of Greenwood Road Aug. 25, police said.

Investigators said Mahan was driving west in the eastbound lanes of Raleigh Road when her car was hit head-on by another vehicle around 9:30 p.m.

The other driver was treated for minor injuries and released at the scene, police said.
