This week, I want to introduce you to the United Kingdom’s music, an obscure collection of songs and artists that you’ve probably never heard of before.
After weeks of research and planning, I’ve curated a playlist — a UKaylist, if you will — of the United Kingdom’s most compelling music.
Being in a foreign country means you have to listen to your fair share of foreign music. While its strangeness is alarming at first, you eventually get the hang of it and might even come to like it. This playlist will introduce you to names like Adele, One Direction and Ed Sheeran; it’s up to you to bring these names over to America.
Let’s not forget the rest of the United Kingdom, though. Prepare your ears for some traditional Welsh, Scottish, Northern Irish and English music, too.
You’ll be the life of the party when you suggest making this the night’s playlist. Whether it’s because of the Scottish bagpipes or the Welsh hit “Dacw ‘Nghariad,” you’re bound to end up dancing the night away.
