UNC says overnight camping isn't allowed for President Obama's visit

In case you somehow missed it, President Barack Obama and James Taylor will be visiting Hooker Fields tomorrow afternoon to campaign for Secretary Hillary Clinton. Here are some answers to common questions going around:

  • Tickets and online RSVPs don't guarantee entry. People with physical tickets will form a separate line from people who RSVPed online.
  • Camping out overnight won't be permitted. The line to enter will form officially at 8 a.m. Wednesday. Doors open at 12:30.
  • Expect security similar to an airport. UNC's page for the event says no bags, signs, umbrellas, liquids or sharp objects.
  • Small cameras are allowed. Water will be available.
  • This is a standing event, so wear comfortable shoes. Limited seating will be provided for attendees with disabilities.
  • South Road will be closed to traffic from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Five-dollar parking for visitors is available at the Rams Head Deck and S11 Manning lot.
