On Thursday, the Carrboro Police Department charged a Chapel Hill man with first-degree murder and armed robbery from an incident that occurred in December 2015.

Tory Amyr Pope, 32, was confined in the Orange County Jail without bond, according to a press release from the Carrboro Police Department.

On Dec. 26, 2015, Todd Richardson, 56, was found dead near N.C. 54 in Carrboro after police responded to a check well-being complaint. The cause of death was determined to be homicide.
