A new hotel will open in Southern Village in April.
Real estate development agency Bryan Properties has announced plans for Hyatt Place Chapel Hill, the first hotel in the development.
Kristi Kaas, director of sales, said Southern Village is an ideal location, just outside of UNC's campus.
“It’s not right on top of campus, so it can speak to both business and leisure travelers,” Kaas said.
Kaas said the hotel had an incentive to chose Chapel Hill as a location due to a Tar Heel connection from multiple UNC graduates on the project team.
Besides the location, Hyatt Place Chapel Hill will offer its guests daily complimentary breakfasts, on-site parking with valet services and Wi-Fi accessibility, Kaas said.
She said meeting rooms will appeal to professional guests, and a large back patio will allow the hotel to host small outdoor events onsite, setting Hyatt Place Chapel Hill apart from the competition.
