All Up In Your Business: Toppers to raise money for hunger relief Monday

Buying a pizza from Toppers Pizza on Monday will help support hunger relief.

From 4 to 9 p.m., all Toppers locations, including the one on West Franklin Street, are offering a deal on medium carry-out pizzas with up to two toppings for $4.99. Two dollars of each pizza sold will be donated to Feeding America, an organization that aims to provide hunger relief through food banks.

“Feeding America — we really supported their core values — and our core values aligned, so that’s why we decided to work with them,” Bridget Vetter, a spokesperson for Toppers Pizza, said.

Vetter said the company has been partnering with Feeding America for about five years and has raised more than $250,000. This is the second annual fundraising event. Vetter said they hoped to raise at least $50,000 nationwide in 2017.

“You know, I think it’s a win-win — you can feed yourself and feed others,” Vetter said.
