Chapel Hill’s nightlife gained new variety in January with the opening of Zell’s Underground Daiquiri Bar at 157 E. Rosemary St.
Located at the site of what used to be Underground Chapel Hill, another bar, Zell’s is the only daiquiri bar in Chapel Hill. General Manager Miguel Tatum said that while this is the first Zell’s location, plans are already in the works to open a Zell’s in Raleigh.
Zell's offers uncommon drinks, such as the Dirty Banana, a mix of a Banana Banshee and a White Russian.
Tatum said the business takes pride in more than just its unique drinks.
“The daiquiris are great, but we also have live music on Fridays and Saturdays,” Tatum said. "Sometimes we have DJs from K97.5 radio station."
The bar will host guests for viewings of local sporting events, including UNC vs. Duke basketball games, where fans can enjoy daiquiris while watching on one of several large screens, Tatum said.
