TO THE EDITOR:
Last weekend, I had the pleasure of visiting the quad for the first time. I noted with pleasure my ancestor’s name on the monument listing the original trustees of UNC.
While there, I picked of a copy of The Daily Tar Heel and noted the article about the pie throw to assist undocumented youngsters with tuition. While that is admirable, I wondered, having spent many years in the service, if the students might not want to help the children of servicemen and women killed or maimed in combat. Failing that, perhaps they can help the children of some of the lower-salaried folks who work at the University.
Just one person’s thoughts.
