The water in Chapel Hill and Carrboro is safe to use as of about 2:15 p.m. Saturday, according to the Orange Water and Sewage Authority.
However, OWASA and the Orange County Health Department said customers should limit water use to essential purposes because supplies remain below normal levels.
OWASA officials said residents in the Foxcroft Drive area, near where the water main broke Friday, should boil water before using it. The break on the water main has been repaired.
