The seven stages of grieving when you don't get men's basketball tickets. Ever.

Ah, the basketball lottery — the wonderful system that randomly gives out the coveted men’s basketball tickets for important games such as the one against Louisville tonight.

I didn't get tickets for tonight's game, and I am still very bitter about it. For that reason, I created the stages of entering and not winning the lottery presented in GIF form to hopefully make you feel a little less sad about not getting to see the treasure that is Roy Williams up close.

To all those entering in the Duke lottery today, best of luck, and I hope you won't be able to relate to what I'm going through.

1. You enter the lottery while thinking, “It’s finally my time! I can feel it!”

2. A few days later, you see the fate-determining email from Carolina Athletics.

3. You open it and read the words, “Unfortunately, you HAVE NOT been randomly selected...”

4. You desperately text everyone you know asking if they won the lottery.

5. You resign yourself to another home game spent in the library and not near Roy Williams.

6. You spend that entire library session doing literally anything but work, thinking “I could’ve been at the game but nooo, I didn’t get tickets.”
