Not bored of Aldermen: Carrboro town leaders have fun on Twitter

In case you just cannot get enough of your local Carrboro Board of Aldermen members every Tuesday night at their weekly meetings, you should be comforted in knowing that they stay busy during the week with the help of Twitter.

First, let's recognize Board of Aldermen member Sammy Slade purely because of his profile picture. Raccoons and chickens. What more can I say.

Then there was that time Board of Aldermen member Bethany Chaney came home from a trip and found chocolate-covered hemp seeds tied to her doorknob. This is quite possibly the most Carrboro thing to ever happen.

Or that time Slade invited his Twitter followers to play four square with him on Weaver Street.

Or that time Carrboro’s Poet Laureate read a chicken poem at a Board of Aldermen meeting.

Or this.

Also, their efforts to get people to come out to meetings do not go unnoticed.

The love between Chaney and Board of Aldermen member Damon Seils also does not go unnoticed.

When Seils is so invested in his town that he dreams about using its sidewalk snowplow.

The word inspirational does not even begin to describe Michelle Johnson’s replies to her yoga class attendees.

Her fashion is also equally inspirational.

“Cuddle with me on the radio.” No comment on this one.

Chaney’s water crisis updates were arguably more helpful than Alert Carolina’s.

I think the only thing bigger than my love for the Carrboro Board of Aldermen is Chaney’s love for Carolina basketball.

Seils is always answering the important questions.

The things that get an Aldermen excited.

She appreciates the dreamers.
