Carrburritos, a mexican restaurant on West Rosemary Street in Carrboro, recently celebrated its 20th anniversary on April 8.
“We had a party in the parking lot,” said Gail Fairbanks, owner of Carrburritos. “It was enthusiastically attended.
As a part of the celebration, customers could buy margaritas for $3.50, which was the original price when they opened in 1997.
They also feautured live music from the Dynamite Brothers and Bibis Ellison.
“The Dynamite Brothers were playing — they were very young men when we opened,” Fairbanks said.
She also said that over the years they’ve even had people propose at the restaurant.
“We were grateful to have made it 20 years,” Fairbanks said. “We are always happy a lot of alumni come down to Carrburritos.”
