Police log for April 12, 2017

• Someone reported loud music on the 400 block of Hillsborough Street at 12:15 a.m. Sunday, according to Chapel Hill police reports.

The person was hosting a surprise birthday party, reports state.

• Someone reported loud music and a party on the 700 block of North Columbia Street at 1:45 a.m. Sunday, according to Chapel Hill police reports.

• Someone broke and entered with force on the 400 block of Melanie Court at 1:53 a.m. Sunday, according to Chapel Hill police reports.

The person used a rock to break into an apartment and used the rock to cause $2,700 in damage to windows, the oven, a sliding door and wooden cabinet doors, reports state.

• Someone broke and entered a residence with force on the 100 block of Fraternity Court at 2:19 a.m. Sunday, according to Chapel Hill police reports.

The person pushed open the front door of the fraternity, reports state.

• Someone reported larceny from a vehicle on the 500 block of Church Street at 5 p.m. Sunday, according to Chapel Hill police reports.

The person used the spare key to enter the vehicle and steal $1,200 in cash, reports state.
