A sad state

Did people not pay attention in literally any history course ever? Hitler was a bad guy who murdered a lot of people with toxic chemicals. From the statements of Sean Spicer and North Carolina’s own Larry Pittman, you’d think Hitler was a reasonable leader. Do Republicans want us to call them fascists?

Thanks, y'all

Thank you to everyone who supported The Daily Tar Heel last week. Our staff worked really hard to get y’all the best game coverage and keepsake papers possible. We saw all the kind posts supporting us, and we just wanted to make sure it didn’t go unnoticed. Now let’s get to covering the last bit of this school year.

Flip and flop

The air strikes in Syria are certainly too complicated for a quick hit to get into, but the flip-flopping on intervention is not. If you think illegal air strikes were not OK under Obama, then they should remain not OK under Trump. The same can be said of the inverse of that statement. Please have some consistency.

Ode to medicine

Thank you allergy medicine. Thank you for allowing us to function. Thank you for allowing us to keep our sleeves sneeze-free. Thank you for keeping us from annoying our friends and professors with our sneezing. Thank you for keeping our attendance grades up since we don’t have to miss class due to constant sneezing.

RIP winter (pt. 2)

We miss cold weather. The Daily Tar Worker knows that summer is the capitalist season. Unlike a sturdy coat, summer clothers are thin and not durable. You have to buy sunscreen, go on vacations to cool places and spend money having a good time. We long for the cold, wintery days made for the true proletarians.

TWO WORDS

We love seeing the sharp increase in school pride as of late — we’re not criticizing that at all. But friends, Tar Heels is two words. TWO. If you write “Way to go tarheels,” you’re in the wrong. If you read this paper or look at any UNC shirt or flyers you will clearly see that it is two words. We can do better, Tar Heels.
