Allen Artis has been found not responsible by UNC's Title IX office after Delaney Robinson's appeal of the original decision.
"Therefore, after carefully and thoroughly considering the record as a whole, I agree with the investigators’ determination that the alleged conduct and the context in which it occurred, does not support a finding of forcible sexual assault in violation of the Policy," said the the decision letter from Gena Carter, the UNC Title IX Administrative Reviewer.
Robinson's lawyer, Denise Branch, released a statement saying they are disappointed in the decision.
"Ms. Robinson is deeply troubled by the University’s apparent disregard of the scientific, medical, and expert evidence that shows she was sexually assaulted on February 14, 2016," the statement said.
The Title IX office found Artis not guilty in early April, but Robinson and Branch appealed the decision.
Artis still faces misdemeanor charges and will be seen in court on May 22.
