TO THE EDITOR:
As a fan of doing crossword puzzles in ink, I am saddened enough by your reduced publication schedule. I empathize.
However, the increasing regularity of errors in the printing of the crossword puzzle this semester is a true cause for concern.
Some days we see puzzles printed twice in a row. Other days, swaths of clues are omitted.
And on Friday (9/22/2017), shockingly, the clues did not even match the puzzle grid.
Is this some kind of long cruel joke? Or copy and paste errors? Please attend more carefully to the printing of the puzzle.
And, respectfully, it might be time for a name change – “The Occasional Tar Heel”?
