Letter: Save the Earth through a campus org

TO THE EDITOR:

The extreme heat & humidity of a few weeks ago had us all thinking about, if not at least feeling, the effects of a warming climate.

If those days of record heat weren’t enough to convince you of the reality of climate change, consider the fact that 16 of the 17 hottest years ever recorded have occurred since 2001.

The hottest of all was 2016, and 2017 is already on track to beat it according to the NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies.

The outlook for our planet and its beings is bleak, but the good news is there are students on campus working to stand up and fight for action.

Join the Climate Reality Project Campus Corps on Thursday, October 26th in Woolen Gym 304 for a screening of Al Gore’s groundbreaking new film,

“An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth to Power”. After the film there will be a live-streamed Q&A with former Vice President Gore himself.

Learn how you can get involved in the fight for a cleaner and more just future, starting at our university.
