Letter: Allen Buansi is dedicated to Chapel Hill

 TO THE EDITOR:

When my friend Allen Buansi told me that he wanted to run for Chapel Hill Town Council, I was thrilled.

Aside from being one of the kindest people that I have had the pleasure of knowing, I immediately saw the Town Council as a perfect place for him to serve.

Allen has lived, gone to school, and worked in Chapel Hill, and he is steeped in this Town’s history.

His background as a civil rights attorney gives him a unique perspective that is important—especially in a time when civil rights issues are dominating the news headlines.

His vision is clear and straightforward—to foster growth that balances the needs of Chapel Hill residents.

Though what is happening at the national scene might be hard to watch, municipal politics can offer a ray of hope.

Strong leadership at the local level is just as important, and arguably moreso, than the state or national level.

This is why I fully endorse him and urge all of those who are able to support him on November 7th.
