It's the first weekend of the summer session, and campus is a bit less active than usual. But if you are looking for something to do with your family, partner, new subletter or classmate from your eight-person summer class, the DTH has got you covered.

May 17-Storytime with Tinkergarten - For the families with some youngin's, go enjoy a nature-themed story and playtime. Parents, maybe you can grab a cup of tea and relax for a bit. (Honeysuckle Tea House)

May 17-Carolina Adopt-A-Bulls at Bark at the Bosh - See the Heels in their last ACC series against Virginia Tech and, more importantly, bring your dog! (Boshamer Stadium

REMINGTON carries a bottle of Gatorade back to the dugout against Florida State on March 23.

May 18-Glow Night at TreeRunner! - Go feel like you're in the freakin' future with the glowed-up zip line and climbing experience. (Treerunner Raleigh Adventure Park)

May 19-Family Fun Fest & Low-Cost Rabies Clinic - This veterinarian-visit-meets-summer-festival will bring you the conveniently odd combination of face painting and Animal Control Show and Tell. (Rogers Road Community Center)

May 19- Get Sad Y'all - Get your eyeliner and Converse ready, because Local 506 is hosting an Emo Night for all y'all sadbois in the area looking for some tunes. (Local 506)

May 19- Artsplosure - Looking to get cultured with the whole family? Raleigh is celebrating spring with their 39th annual arts festival featuring music, artists' market and a kid zone. (Fayetteville St)

May 19-Beer & Bacon Festival - Maybe art isn't your thing, but you still want to get in the festival spirit. Come enjoy over 75 bottomless craft beers and 15+ tasting stations. (Booth Amphitheater)

May 20-Empanada Extravaganza - This event looks to be just as fun as the name itself. Try a plethora of food truck empanadas and vote for your favorite! (Durham Central Park)

Attendees of the Carrboro Open Streets Festival toss pizza dough into the air among many other recreational activities on Weaver St. on Sunday, April 8, 2018.

May 20-Triangle VegFest - This is quite the weekend for food in the triangle — so if the above bacon festival doesn't float your boat, check out this vegan/vegetarian/gluten-free market. (Southern Village Green)

May 20- Carrboro Food Truck Festival - Like we said, the Triangle is really going hard on the food festivals this weekend. Lucky us! There will be 10 participating food trucks and I, for one, am excited. (Carrboro)
